Many have shared Thoughts and Feelings this week, some of which I echo. I tend to pass the mic during times like this—partly because I’m still processing, but partly because however I feel and whatever I could say is almost certainly better articulated by someone else.
I generally avoid comparing Bucktown to my new neighborhood. I try not to hold my new apartment or my new coffee shop up to what I used to have.
Still, on days like today, when the weather is beautiful and I'm craving an Ipsento latte and wondering whether my old neighbor's magnolia weathered our April cold snap (please report back), it's hard not to miss it.
While my life currently bears a likeness to the quiet, flexible summer vacations of my childhood (minus hours of Dawson's Creek reruns), I'm ready to embrace my penchant for planning and, with that, embrace everything Chicago and the summer season have to offer. Enter: my to-do list for a no-bummer summer.
